Crypto Scams! over a Million Dollars Lost in App Store Scam

Scammers in the crypto currency space have been popping up everywhere due to the current bull market. These scammers use different tactics to trick you into sending them your crypto and if you are not aware of them, you could potentially find yourself out of a lot of money.

A fake Trezor app in the App Store, a popular hardware wallet used to store your crypto currency offline, was launched on the App Store. The scammer/scammers managed to steal over $1.6 million worth of crypto currency through a phishing scam.

Be careful with what you download on the internet, fake apps are common. Crypto is the wild west of finance. You are pretty much entirely on your own if you somehow manage to lose your Crypto. There is no central authority that you can contact to redeem your funds if you lose them. This is both the beauty of Crypto and DeFi, as well as the danger.
